Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door remake is set to release exclusively for Nintendo Switch on May 23. The game is officially available to preorder right now at a variety of retailers (see here at Best Buy for $59.99) -- though not all of the usual ones. Head to the links below to secure your copy ahead of its release. And in case there's any question about whether this game is any good, our review should put those worries to rest.
There aren't any special editions available for the game, so the standard is all you can get. Curiously, this game used to be available for preorder at Amazon and Walmart, but it no longer is. Why? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is a remake of the original Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door that was first released on GameCube back in 2004. It was first announced last year during September's Nintendo Direct and fans were treated to the official release date during Nintendo's MAR10 Day celebration this past weekend.
While we don't know a lot about it so far, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door's reveal trailer from last year's Nintendo Direct offered a nice little look at the updated visuals in the game, and it looks like it'll be a joy to have on Switch. In our glowing review of the original, we stated that, "The story is funny, the gameplay varied, and the world so charming, you'll want to explore every last corner of it." It's a Mario game you definitely don't want to miss out on.
