As the late, great Sinead O'Connor once said, it is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society. It is normal, good even, to question why things are the way they are and whether they could be better. By the same token, social media is rife with cringeworthy spectacles that seem directly inspired by the revelation that we do, in fact, Live In A Society. The most basic (and occasionally, wrong) insights get blown up into something deep and thoughtful in the name of engagement. They may miss the mark with anybody who has got past Philosophy 101, but their pompousness is certainly amusing nonetheless. The examples below are an indictment of what passes for 'deep' thinking on the internet, that is better suited to being reposted in jest by ironic meme accounts. It has to be said, they really do achieve the goal of making you think.
